Afraid of taking the first step? Not our nominees for this year’s Newcomer Award with the theme Start Now! They’ve shown us that starting out doesn’t necessarily have to be difficult, bravely facing the fear of the big, blank poster.

Nearly 700 entries from 300 designers around the world were submitted. The jury has made its decision and selected the finalists. The 20 nominated posters can once again be viewed this year in the poster alley in front of the Luzerner Kantonalbank.

The 20 Nominees

Every year, the Weltformat Graphic Design Festival showcases intriguing and surprising designs by young emerging designers as part of the Weltformat Newcomer Award. The winning poster is announced during the award ceremony on the festival's opening night in the Neubad Pool, and the Audience Choice Award is presented as well.
