Newcomer Award

In addition to the jury prize, this year's event will also feature an audience award. From the twenty nominated posters, the public can vote for their favorites in an online poll. The winning posters will be announced during the festival's opening on October 7th. The winner will receive a $500 voucher provided by Grilli Type.

Based on this year's festival theme, "Life's a Pitch," which critically and diversely examines competition presentations, we also want to explore a facet of design pitches for the Newcomer Award.

On the street, posters face massive competition. Every single one vies for the viewer's attention. Only the one with the most unusual idea or the most striking subject stands out in the flood of posters. That's why we challenge you to make your poster force the audience to look.

Upload your poster as a JPG file (150 dpi, DIN A3 (297x420mm), max. 3 MB) by August 7th to our community area.

A maximum of three entries per person is permitted. Already published works and plagiarisms are excluded from participation. The twenty nominated posters will be printed in F4 format (895x1280 mm).

After the closing date, a jury consisting of poster designers and a representative of APG|SGA will select twenty posters from all entries that will be shown during Weltformat Graphic Design Festival in Lucerne from October 7th to October 15th, 2023. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony during the festival opening on October 7th.
