Ted Davis: Basil.js

During the Weltformat evening workshops, specific approaches and techniques will be presented to participants. Within a short time, designers will get to know new skills and their areas of application. The possibilities offered by these techniques will be demonstrated, as well as ways of incorporating them into one's own work.

basil.js is an open source scripting library – in the spirit of processing – which allows designers, even those without coding experience, to automatise design processes in InDesign. With basil.js, computer-aided visuals can be created and automated sequences can be integrated into layouts.

Ted Davis, one of the developers of basil.js, will present the tool in a workshop and give the participants an introduction. The aim of the workshop is to show designers how they can use and apply basil.js themselves.
