Would you like to get to know new design approaches, specific techniques and work intensively on your own projects for three days? This year’s workshop leaders will make you leave your comfort zone and show you new ways of designing. Playfully, they’ll broaden your horizon and challenge gridlocked patterns. You will work on your own designs and get profound feedback.
Take the opportunity to meet designers from all over the world during the workshop and the Weltformat Graphic Design Festival. The workshops not only offer valuable inputs and inspiration for your own work but are also a chance to meet, exchange and network.
During the workshop with Dinamo you will get to know the world of variable fonts. The flexible, adaptable fonts are talked of a lot – but what possibilities do they offer? How are they developed and how can they be used? During the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with variable fonts and realise your own ideas.
Dinamo is a Swiss design studio based in Basel and Berlin that designs and distributes fonts. Dinamo has worked on typefaces for Tumblr, Nike, MIT Boston, Kunsthalle Zürich, Rimowa, Harvard Graduate School of Design, SSENSE and others. In 2017 Dinamo received the Swiss Design Award from the Swiss Federal Office of Culture and in 2018 was accepted as a member of AGI Alliance Graphique International.

- Costs
The three-day workshops costs CHF 120 for professionals and CHF 80 for students. The price includes a Weltformat Graphic Design Festival pass and the admission fee for the symposium with lectures on the Sunday before the beginning of the workshops. Members and sponsors get a 50% discount on the workshop tickets.
- Arrival
It is worth arriving on the day the festival opens – there will be introductions to the exhibitions and an opening party. On the Sunday before the workshops, Dinamo and Ines Cox will give an insight into their work at the symposium. The symposium is open to everyone, including those who are not participating in the workshops.
