Supporting Programme 2018

The Weltformat Graphic Design Festival 2018 was accompanied by a varied supporting programme. During guided tours, visitors were given insights into the various exhibition concepts, on the opening evening the tenth edition of the festival was celebrated and at the Grafikbazar designers presented their print products.

In the afternoon of the opening day of the Weltformat Graphic Design Festival, vernissages and guided tours through all exhibitions took place. The curators and designers gave insights into the works and the different exhibition concepts. In addition to the Weltformat organisers, the workshop leaders Eike König and The Rodina as well as the designer of the festival poster Ludovic Balland presented their work.

In the evening, the official opening of the festival took place at Neubad. In addition to the announcement of the winner of the Weltformat Newcomer Award, the big anniversary dinner was the highlight of the evening. Together with the visitors, the present designers, curators, workshop leaders and the Weltformat team celebrated the tenth edition of the festival. At the same time, the probably longest paper wave was created during a performance by Zwölf in the empty swimming pool of Neubad. It was screen-printed by hand by the duo consisting of Stefan Guzy and Björn Wiede. The evening ended with the Weltformat party in the basement of Neubad.

During the annual Grafibazar, seventeen designers and graphic design studios from all over Switzerland presented their print products. In addition to posters and prints, visitors could also buy books, fanzines and T-shirts at the small fair.
